90 pigs stolen from rural Tracy barn

TRACY — The Redwood County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of more than 90 pigs from a confinement barn in rural Tracy earlier this week.

The Sheriff’s Office said the theft was reported Wednesday afternoon. Sometime during the late night hours Tuesday or early morning hours Wednesday, a total of 96 feeder pigs were taken from a barn near 140th Street in Springdale Township, Redwood County.

The pigs were each in the weight range of 25 to 30 pounds, according to a news release from the Sheriff’s Office. The total value of the loss was $5,760.

The hog theft is under investgation, the Sheriff’s Office said. People with information regarding the theft are being asked to call the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office at 507-637-4036. Callers can remain anonymous.
