Traveling 9/11 exhibit arrives in Marshall today

Local firefighters will join the escort for the exhibit

MARSHALL — A unique exhibit coming to Marshall today will get a special welcome to go with it. The 9/11 Never Forget traveling memorial exhibit will be escorted through town, with a stop at Memorial Park on the way, Marshall Fire Chief Marc Klaith said.

Klaith said firefighters will be leaving the Marshall fire hall at 10 a.m. to meet the traveling exhibit and escort it to the Lyon County Fairgrounds.

The 9/11 Never Forget exhibit opens Friday at the Lyon County Fair. The exhibit travels in a specialized trailer, which converts into an educational display featuring photos and artifacts from the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks on the World Trade Center. Responders who were at Ground Zero following the attacks travel with the exhibit and will be present during the fair.

Klaith said the exhibit trailer will be escorted through Marshall along East College Drive and onto Main Street, with a stop at the 9/11 memorial in Memorial Park. The exhibit will then travel along Channel Parkway, and to the county fairgrounds.
