Stevens is member of Sociology Club
Shelby Stevens, a sophomore sociology major from Marshall, is a member of the Sociology Club at Southwest Minnesota State University for the 2014-2015 academic year.
The Sociology Club provides a social and academic environment whereby students can network resources and practice their sociological imagination. There are opportunities for aspiring students to understand the sociological world by attending annual conferences and meetings with sociological perspectives and goals.
Lidstrom is member of SIGMA
Daniel Lidstrom, a sophomore finance and accounting major from Marshall, is a member of the Student Investment Group and Management Association at Southwest Minnesota State University for the 2014-2015 academic year.
Lidstrom is the son of Bruce and Connie Lidstrom of Marshall.
The purpose of the Student Investment Group and Management Association is to allow students to gain experience and knowledge in investing and portfolio management as a means of supplementing academic course work.
The club aims to increase awareness of and the status of the finance program at Southwest Minnesota State University and offer experiences in the investment field.
Cid is member of Spanish Club
Marly Cid, a junior psychology major from Marshall, is a member of the Spanish Club at Southwest Minnesota State University for the 2014-2015 academic year.
The Spanish Club works to expand the knowledge and appreciation of the language, custom, history and cultures of Spanish-speaking people through conferences, speakers, fiestas and other events.
SMART welcomes new members
Marshall residents Abby Straw, a senior accounting major; Clay Oglesby, a freshman art and management major; and Kathryn Kaiser, a sophomore marketing and professional writing and communication major, are members of the Sports Management Recreation Team at Southwest Minnesota State University for the 2014-2015 academic year.
This organization will provide speakers, events and activities and professional opportunities for the SMSU community in the area of sports and leisure.
Coens is SAFAC member
Darren Coens, a finance major from Marshall. is a member of the Student Activity Fee Allocation Committee at Southwest Minnesota State University for the 2014-2015 academic year.
SAFAC is nine voting SMSU student members as appointed by the Student Association Senate, with up to three alternates. SAFAC is charged with: reporting Student Activity Fee Allocations to the Student Senate annually and then submitting the recommendations of SAFAC and SA Senate to the university president; consultation with the Senate in reviewing the fee rate structure for the collection of student activity fees at SMSU; submitting their allocation report to the Student Senate by May 1 of the fiscal year preceding the fiscal year for which the allocation is being made.
Salfer, Fischer members of SMSUSA
Carly Salfer, a senior speech communication major from Marshall, and Craig Fischer, a senior speech communication major from Ghent, are members of the Student Association at Southwest Minnesota State University for the 2014-2015 academic year.
SMSU Student Association represents SMSU students.
SHO welcomes new members
Christopher Beadles, a senior hospitality management major from Lynd, and Ujjwal Shrestha, a senior hospitality management major from Marshall, are members of the Student Hospitality Organization at Southwest Minnesota Sate University for the 2014-2015 academic year.
SHO provides a realistic, hands-on learning environment that prepares students to be the outstanding hospitality professionals of tomorrow. The club events offer a fun social context in which our members can gain deeper exposure to skills that they will use throughout their education as well as in their future careers.
Boon is member of the Student Social Work Association
Cassandra Boon, a social work major from Marshall, is a member of the Student Social Work Association at Southwest Minnesota State University for the 2014-2015 academic year.
The organization encourages social work majors to network with each other and gain further information in their career choices.
Students Today Alumni Tomorrow welcome new members
Craig Fischer, a senior communications studies: broadcasting and digital media and communication studies major from Ghent; Jenna Miller, a freshman pre-communication/literature-English major from Marshall; and Meghan Carmody, a senior music education and music major from Marshall, are members of the Students Today Alumni Tomorrow at Southwest Minnesota State University for the 2014-2015 academic year.
Students Today Alumni Tomorrow’s Focus promote Mustang pride and SMSU traditions on campus and throughout the community. It will cultivate relationships between students and alumni through networking opportunities that will enhance the college experience through fun and memorable events.
Condelli is member of Symphonic Band
Justin Condelli, a senior music education and music major from Marshall, is a member of the Symphonic Band at Southwest Minnesota State University for the 2014-2015 academic year.
The Symphonic Band is SMSU’s premiere concert ensemble for winds and percussion. Members include music majors as well as outstanding musicians from degree programs throughout the university. The Symphonic Band plays the highest quality literature available for bands and chamber ensembles in a variety of styles and difficulty levels. The Symphonic Band encourages the development of new wind band literature through commissioning efforts.
