NCAA MEN’S BASKETBALL: Marshall native Mitch Sueker named RMAC MBB Offensive Player Of The Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – South Dakota School of Mines freshman Mitchell Sueker has been named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week Monday by the league office in Colorado Springs, Colo., after he helped the Hardrockers win a pair of conference games this past weekend in Rapid City, South Dakota.

Sueker, a 6-foot-9-inch forward, from Marshall, had a big hand in helping the Hardrockers earn wins over MSU Denver (70-67 in OT) Friday and Chadron State (80-59) on Saturday.

On the weekend, the redshirt freshmen was 19-32 for 54 points and shot 54 percent from the field and was 12-14 on free throws. He added five assists and logged almost 80 minutes over the two games.

“Mitchell continues to improve as the season goes on,” said Hardrocker men’s basketball head coach Eric Glenn. “Since he’s come back from Christmas break, he’s been competing at a high level and is really starting to gain confidence and find his opportunities on the offensive end.”

Sueker was key factor in the overtime win vs. MSU Denver Friday, with 22 points, 43 minutes, and one assist. Saturday night against Chadron, Sueker scored a career-high 32 points and was an impressive 11-15 from the field, including 3-5 on three pointers. He notched four assists and registered 36 minutes in the win.
