SMSU SOCCER: SMSU falls to UMD 2-1 on Friday night

DULUTH – The Southwest Minnesota State women’s soccer team fell 2-1 to Minnesota Duluth on Friday night at James S. Malosky Stadium.

UMD advanced to 6-8-1 overall and 5-6-1 in the NSIC while SMSU fell to 3-11 overall and 3-9 in conference play.

SMSU’s Alli Miskowiec scored SMSU’s only goal in the 72nd minute, assisted by Kelli Wentz.

UMD outshot SMSU 18-10 and 8-6 on goal.

Mustang goalkeeper Jenna Meyer earned six saves, five of which occurred in the first half.

SMSU (3-11, 3-19 NSIC) travels to St. Cloud State (6-5-4, 6-3-3 NSIC) on Sunday at 1 p.m.
