SMSU SOCCER: SMSU falls to SCSU, 2-0

ST. CLOUD – Southwest Minnesota State women’s soccer team dropped Sunday afternoon’s match to St. Cloud State with 2-0 final score.

The Mustangs extend their seven-game losing streak and move to 3-12 overall and 3-10 in conference play while the Huskies move to 7-5-4 overall and 7-3-3 in the NSIC.

SCSU out shot SMSU 26 to five and 13 to three in shots on goal.

Mustang goalkeeper Jenna Meyer (1-6) played 90 minutes and recorded 11 saves.

The Huskies scored in the first two minutes of the game off a penalty kick to lead 1-0 for the remainder of the first half. With 17 minutes to go in the second half, SCSU advanced its lead to 2-0 for the conference victory.
