SMSU SOCCER: Mustangs open season with 3-1 exhibition win over Dakota Wesleyan

MITCHELL, S.D. – The Southwest Minnesota State University women’s soccer team opened the 2018 season Saturday with a victory over Dakota Wesleyan in an exhibition match with a final score of 3-1.

Alli Miskowiec scored a hat trick to lead the Mustangs, scoring her first goal in the fourth minute. The Tigers tied the game in the 38th minute by a goal from Alyssa Weidler.

Miskowiec dominated the second half scoring the only two goals out of both teams. Her second goal came in the last 20 minutes and her final goal in the last two minutes.

Jessica Craigmile added three saves to hold DWU scoreless in the second half.

The Mustangs host St. Ben’s on Wednesday for another exhibition match at 6:00 p.m.
