PREP SPORTS ROUNDUP: Strong first half carries Panthers over Dawson-Boyd

TRACY – The Tracy-Milroy-Balaton girls basketball team defeated Dawson-Boyd 75-45 on Thursday night.

Evy Dolan led the way for the Panthers with 22 points while Samantha Edwards added 16 and Sydney Lanoue chipped in 12. Dolan led in rebounds with 12 while Kaylee Kirk led in assists with seven.

Avery Bartunek led the way for the Blackjacks with 18 points while Alex Sather added eight and Mary Bothun had seven. Bothun led in rebounds with six while Sather and Bartunek each had three assists.

TMB will face Lakeview today at 7:15 p.m. while Dawson-Boyd will face Southwest Minnesota Christian on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.

WELCOME – The Marshall gymnastics team fell to Martin County Area Magic 125-122.95 on Thursday.

Saphi McFarquhar led the way for the Tigers with a first place finish in the all-around, scoring a 33.75 (1st in uneven bars, 8.3; 3rd on balance beam, 7.85; 1st on floor, 9.0). Mikayla Chesley took second on vault (8.6) to take fifth in the all-around (28.4). Taliya McFarquhar took second in the uneven bars (7.15), third on the floor exercise (8.35) to place third in the all-around (31.35).

Marshall will host its home invite Saturday at 11 a.m. before hosting another home meet on Monday.

ADRIAN – Marshall defeated Fulda/Murray County Central 69-3 on Thursday.

Marshall recorded two pins in the win. Grant Louwagie took down Christian Kuball with a second remaining in the first period of the 138-pound bout.

At 152, Jackson Hughes pinned Rylan Behnke in 44 seconds.

Marshall won nine weight classes by forfeit.
