Camryn Bunting led the way for the Chargers with 10 points while Brittany Erickson had seven.

Bunting led in rebounds with 15 while Theresa Merrick led in assists with four.

LUVERNE – The Marshall boys hockey team fell to Luverne 3-1 on Tuesday.

Tristan VanDeVere scored the lone goal for the Tigers in the second period. Dominik Caspers recorded 31 saves in the loss.

After a scoreless first period, the Cardinals took an early 1-0 lead in the second before VanDeVere found the back of the net with 9:53 left in the period to tie it up. But the Cardinals added another goal in the second and one in the third to take the victory.

Marshall (2-2) will face New Ulm on Thursday at 7 p.m.

Mason Irlbeck got things going for the Bobcats with a pin against Hunter Wilke in the 106 bout. Luke Kluver responded for the Cobras at 113 by pinning Vander Mathiowetz.

After a couple of forfeits gave W/RRC an 18-6 lead, Josh Hesse added to that lead at 138 pounds, recording a pin against Sam Ohliger.

Quad County took the next two bouts. Jack Howard pinned Luke Wagner, while Ayden Friese earned a 7-1 decision over Austin Irlbeck.

With his team leading 24-15, Jared Schroepfer pinned Tristen Todd in the second period of the 160-pound bout to extend the Bobcats’ lead.

At 195, Lance Wagner pinned Cole Fischer 19 seconds into the bout to add to the W/RRC lead.

{Prior to a forfeit in the heavyweight bout by Quad County, the Cobras notched their final points of the dual as Bryce Schmidt earned a 5-2 decision over Isaac Schmiesing.

LAMBERTON — It came down to the weight class, but Wabasso/Red Rock Central outlasted Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg 39-35 on Tuesday.

The Bobcats got two pins in the dual. At 182, Nick Altermatt took down Richard Jones in the first period. Isaac Schmiesing recorded a second-period pin in the 220 bout, defeating Ryan Torkelson.

That pin put W/RRC down by just a 35-33 score, and a KMS forfeit in the heavyweight bout gave the Bobcats a 39-35 victory.
