MINNEOTA – The 2017 season has been another successful one for the Minneota Vikings and Isaac Hennen. The Vikings finished the regular season with an 8-0 record and are one win away from reaching the Class A state championship game.

Hennen rushed for 813 yards and 12 touchdowns during the regular season and added 37 receptions for 622 yards and nine touchdowns. In the three games during the section tournament Hennen rushed for 436 yards and six touchdowns. During the team’s opening round win of the state tournament Hennen rushed for 158 yards and four touchdowns.

For his performance during his senior season Hennen has been recognized as one of the 11 finalists for the Mr. Football award.

“I am honored to have been nominated as one of the 11 finalists for the Mr. Football award,” Hennen said. “It really means a lot to me because it shows that my hard work has payed off. More than anything else though it is a tribute to how great my teammates and coaches are.”

The 2017 Mr. Football Award will be presented at the Mr. Football Banquet on Sunday, Dec. 10, at 10 a.m. The banquet will be held at the Doubletree by Hilton Minneapolis Park Place Hotel.

“I was very surprised,” Hennen said. “Coach (Chad) Johnston had told me that I might be nominated a few days ago. I didn’t actually think I would make the Top 11. It was very cool to get the news.”
