SMSU GOLF: Mustangs close out play at Midwest Classic
WARRENSBURG, Mo.- Southwest Minnesota State wrapped up play at the Midwest Classic, a two-day tournament hosted by the University of Central Missouri, with a team score of 339 in round two on Tuesday to finish in 14th place out of 19 teams with a two-day score of 670.
SMSU finished with a 55-over-par score on day two after shooting a 47-over-par 331 on day one of the tournament at the 71-par Mules National Golf Club.
Arkansas Tech took home the overall team win with a round two score of 307 and a final team score of 613. Augustana finished as the runner up with a second round score of 309 and a 615 two day total. Central Missouri finished up the two-day tournament in third with a final team total of 616.
Ashley Bixby finished tied for 27th with a second round score of 84 after beginning the day in seventh place following a first round score of 75 on Monday.
Hannah Kohls finished day two just seven-over-par for a score of 78 to finish in a tie for 47th place with a two day score of 166.
Lauren Kerr finished in 82nd place with a second round score of 88 and Lidia Wallerich finished in 72nd place with a second round score of 90. Christina Collins shot an 89 on day two for a tie in 77th place.
Sydney O’Brien and Hallie Will carded scores of 91 and 98 respectively as they continued to play as individuals for a second straight day.
SMSU will compete in its final tournament of the fall season when it travels to St. Charles, Mo., for the Lindenwood Invite at the Missouri Bluffs Golf Course.
