SMSU GOLF: SMSU sits in fifth place following round one of CSP Invite

BROOKLYN PARK – The Southwest Minnesota State women’s golf team is in fifth place out of 13 teams following the first round of the 36-hole Concordia-St. Paul Invite at Edinburgh Golf Course on Sunday.

SMSU shot a 52-over-par 340, trailing fourth place Northwest Missouri State by one stroke and are four shots behind third place University of Sioux Falls. Augustana leads the tournament following a 310 and holds an 18-shot over second place Central Missouri.

The Mustangs were led by Hannah Kohls, who carded an 11-over 83 and is currently tied for 16th in the 77-player field. Lauren Kerr is tied for 25th after a 13-over 85, Ashley Bixby and Sydney O’Brien both shot 14-over 86 and are tied for 28th, while Lidia Wallerich rounded out SMSU’s scores with a 19-over 91.

Augustana’s Sierra Langlie is the first round individual leader with a score of 4-over 76.

Today’s final round begins at 8:30 a.m.
