SMSU GOLF: SMSU golf closes CSP Classic with seventh place finish

BROOKLYN PARK – The Southwest Minnesota State University women’s golf team closed out the Concordia-St. Paul Classic on Monday with a final round score of 346 to finish in seventh place at the 13-team tournament with a two-round score of 110-over-par 686. The 36-hole tournament was held at Edinburgh USA Golf Course.

Augustana won the tournament with a 41-over 617, with Central Missouri finishing in second place at 82-over 658. Alexandra Stone from Augustana earned medalist honors with an 8-over 152.

Hannah Kohls paced the Mustangs on Monday with a 10-over 82 and finished 15th in the 77-player field with a 21-over 165. Ashley Bixby carded a 13-over 85 today and tied for 24th overall with a 27-over 171.

Sydney O’Brien shot a 19-over 91 today and placed 39th overall with a 33-over 177. Lidia Wallerich shot a 16-over 88 during today’s final round and tied for 43rd at 35-over 179, while Lauren Kerr finished with a 97 today to placed tied for 49th with a 38-over 182.

Christina Collins played as an individual during the tournament and recorded rounds of 92-87 to tie for 43rd overall at 35-over. Hallie Will also played as an individual and finished 67th with rounds of 97 and 102.

Southwest Minnesota State will return to action hosting the 20th annual Mustang Invite on Sept. 23-24 at the Marshall Golf Club.
