PREP SPORTS ROUNDUP: Tracy VFW defeats Springfield with walk-off

TRACY – The Tracy VFW baseball team defeated Springfield in grand fashion, using a walk-off to win 4-3 Thursday.

With the bases loaded and the game tied at 3-3, Tracy’s Rylan Fogelson grounded into a fielder’s choice to bring in the game-winning run. Jake Tauer led the way for Tracy with a 2 for 4 day at the plate with a pair of RBIs while Caleb Nordsiden also had a hit.

Jake Byrne earned the win on the hill for Tracy, going all seven innings while allowing four hits and three runs while striking out eight.

Tracy (5-1) will face Luverne on Monday.

Sacred Heart 5, Granite Falls 2

GRANITE FALLS – The Granite Falls amateur baseball team fell to Sacred Heart 5-2 Wednesday.

Jordan Odegard and Craig Listul led the way for Granite Falls with 2 for 4 days at the plate while Derek Dyrdahl and Jordan Thompson recorded an RBI each.

Chase Richter took the loss for Granite Falls, going six innings while allowing seven hits and four runs while striking out three.

Granite Falls will face New London-Spicer today at 7:30 p.m.

Milroy Irish 15, Adrian 2

ADRIAN – The Milroy Irish knocked around Adrian on Wednesday to the tune of 15-2.

The Irish scored four runs in the third inning to take a 4-1 lead. The fourth inning is when the floodgates opened up. The Irish knocked in 11 runs to take a commanding 15-1 lead.

Dominic Dolan went 3-4 with three RBIs. Tyler Peterson pitched five innings and recorded seven strikeouts.

With the win the Irish are now 12-4 overall. They’ll be back in action on Friday against Minneota.
