NASCAR: Corn powers NASCAR at Iowa Speedway

NEWTON, IA – Southwestern Minnesota corn growers have a connection in NASCAR.

Sunoco Racing fuels refine corn into green e15 98 octane racing fuel blend. The fuel is green in color and is produced in plant in Fulton NY at full production it produces 85 million gals. per year. In 2013 they purchased 150 million dollars of corn that equals 22 million bushels. The fuel is never stored in underground tanks; it goes directly to tanker truck to avoid any moisture contamination.

The fuel is $7.50 per gallon and the carburated engine will burn the ethanol at 5 miles per gallon.

Enogen/Syngenta brought with 30 farmers and dealers from the area to watch the NASCAR Xfinity series American Ethanol e15 250 presented by Enogen over the weekend.
