PREP TRACK AND FIELD: Area teams compete at subsection meet in Redwood

REDWOOD FALLS – The Tracy-Milroy-Balaton, Wabasso and Westbrook-Walnut Grove/Red Rock Central track teams all took part in the subsection track meet in Redwood Falls on Thursday. In total there were nine teams competing, with the Wabasso girls and boys team finishing in third place.

The TMB girls team placed fifth, while the boys team finished eighth.

Both the boys and girls WWG/RRC teams finished seventh.

100 Meters

Wabasso’s Anjolic Salfer finished first with a time of 13.53. TMB’s Kaylee Kirk finished third with a time of 13.89.

On the boys side, Wabasso’s Mitchell Fulton finished second with a time of 11.74. Fellow Rabbit, Colton Taylor finished third with a time of 11.75.

200 Meters

Anjolic Salfer took home first place for the Rabbits with a time of 27.05.

400 Meters

Catherine Wendland finished second for TMB with a time of 1:04.20.

Wabasso’s Colton Taylor took home gold with a time of 50.64.

800 Meters

Lindsey Bernardy finished third for Wabasso with a time of 2:31.77.

1,600 Meter

Nathan Runck finished third for WWG/RRC with a mile time of 4:49.72.

3,200 Meters

Chloe Haven finished second for the Rabbits with a time of 12:44.52.

300 Meter Hurdles

Ramsey Piotter finished second for WWG/RRC with a time of 50.50.

On the boys side, Cooper Taylor finished second with a time of 42.35 for Wabasso.

4-x-100 relay

Wabasso’s team of Colton Taylor, Mitchell Fulton, Cooper Taylor and Myles Zeug finished first with a time of 45.02.

4-x-400 relay

The team of Alecia Christian, Sarita Hook, Kaylee Kirk and Kendra Ludeman finished first for TMB with a time of 4:11.99. The Wabasso team of McKenna Nelson, Emily Hoffman, Lindsey Bernardy and Mikayla Salfer finished second with a time of 4:17.71.

On the boys side, the TMB team of Spencer Smith, Sawyer Schwartz, Matt Timmerman and Fritz Landherr finished third with a time of 3:52.81.

4-x-800 relay

The Wabasso team of McKenna Nelson, Haley Albu, Emily Hoffman and Lindsey Bernardy finished first with a time of 10:10.84. The TMB team of Cassidy Smith, Brooke Christian, Alecia Christian and Sarita Hook finished second.

On the boys side the team of Ken Celedon, Jake Kleven, Dalton Piotter and Logan Pankonin finished third.

Pole Vault

Taylor Scmidt finished first for TMB on the girls side. For the boys, Koua Vang finished first for WWG/RRC.

High Jump

Kendra Ludeman took home first place for TMB with a jump of 5-05.00. Fellow Panther, Catherine Wednland finished in second place with a jump of 4-10.00. Rachel Kedl finished third for WWG/RRC.

On the boy side, Spencer Smith finished in a tie for second with a jump of 5-07.00 for TMB.

Long Jump

Wabasso’s Colton Taylor finished first with a jump of 20-05.50.

Triple Jump

Ramsey Piotter finished second for WWG/RRC with a jump of 33-02.50.

Discuss

The Rabbits took home first and second place in the discuss. Scott Zollner took home the gold medal with a throw of 124-06. Carl Swedzinski finished second with a throw of 118-05.25.

Shot Put

The Rabbits had an even stronger showing in the shot put, taking home the top three places. Myles Zeug finished first with a throw of 46-10.50. Swedzinski finished second with a throw of 44-10.50. Isaac Schmiesing finished third with a throw of 41-10.25.
