SMSU GOLF: SMSU women’s golf moves to No. 13 in NCAA region poll

INDIANAPOLIS – The Southwest Minnesota State University women’s golf team moved up one spot to No. 13 in the second NCAA Central Region golf rankings released by the NCAA on Thursday.

The entire field for the NCAA Women’s Golf Championships will be announced at on Monday, May 1, at 3 p.m.

SMSU is one of five NSIC schools ranked among the top 14. Arkansas Tech is the top ranked team in the region, followed by Southwestern Oklahoma State, Northeastern State, Augustana and Central Oklahoma rounding out the top five.

The top 12 teams and six individuals, not on those teams, will compete at the Central Super Regional on May 8-10 played Minnehaha Country Club in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

The low three teams and the low three individuals, not on those teams, will advance to the NCAA Championships that will be held May 17-20 at Findlay Country Club in Findlay, Ohio.

SMSU will compete in its final regular season event today through Sunday at the 54-hole NSIC Championships at Dacotah Ridge Golf Club in Morton, Minnesota.
