SMSU MEN’S BASKETBALL: SMSU men’s basketball ranked in both national polls

MARSHALL – The Southwest Minnesota State University men’s basketball team has returned among the Top 25 in both national polls released on Tuesday.

SMSU bumped up to No. 21 in the D2SIDA poll and moved into the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) poll at No. 24.

SMSU, ranked No. 24 in last week’s D2SIDA poll, moves into the NABC Top 25 for the first time since earning a No. 22 ranking on Jan. 3. This is the 21st time in team history the program has appeared in the NABC Top 25 rankings.

Southwest Minnesota State, 25-5 overall, plays for the NSIC/Sanford Health Tournament championship tonight versus Upper Iowa in Sioux Falls, S.D.

SMSU is the only NSIC team ranked in either poll.

Fairmont State (W Va.) is the No. 1 ranked team in both polls with a 27-1 record.
