PREP SPORTS ROUNDUP: Marshall boys basketball hands Waseca its first loss
WASECA – The fifth ranked Marshall Tigers handed 10th ranked Waseca its first loss of the season Saturday with a 78-61 victory. With the win, the Tigers extended their winning streak to nine games.
Mitch Sueker led the Tigers with 20 points. Trey Lance finished with 18 points and nine rebounds. Weston Baker Magrath scored 15 points.
The Tigers (14-1) will travel to Redwood Falls on Tuesday to take on Redwood Valley.

SLAYTON – The Murray County Central Rebels defeated Hills-Beaver Creek 61-47 on Saturday. With the win the Rebels improved to 5-8 overall.
Cole Bassett led the Rebels with 22 points. Mason Woldt recorded a double-double, with 13 points and 11 rebounds.
The Rebels will look to pick up their third straight win today when they travel to Minneota to take on the Vikings.

WASECA – The Marshall Tigers were outscored 32-20 in the first half during their game against Waseca on Saturday. The Tigers were unable to overcome the 12-point deficit, as they fell to Waseca 56-42.
Natalie Petrich led the Tigers with 15 points. Whitney Schwartz chipped in with nine points.
The loss drops the Tigers to 8-8 overall. They’ll return home Tuesday to take on Redwood Valley.

Lydia Sussner led the way for the Vikings with 28 points. Morgan Hennen hit a pair of 3-pointers and finished with 16 points. Charlie Josephson finished with 15 points and Amber Engels chipped in with 14.
The Vikings will aim to pick up their third straight win Tuesday when they hit the road to take on Renville County West.

Against Perham, Dereck Ellingson (120), Austin Axford (145), Trevor Eisfeld (152), Nash Mayer (160) and Austin Buchholz (220) all won by decision while Jace Paplow (170) won by fall.
