SMSU SOFTBALL: SMSU softball to host winter prospect camp

MARSHALL – The Southwest Minnesota State University softball program will be hosting a Winter Prospect Camp on Saturday, February 4th, 2017 on the campus of SMSU in the PE Gym.

The camp is designed to enhance advanced skills and will include instruction on position play, strategies, and advice on preparing to play collegiate softball. The camp allows athletes the opportunity to get to know the SMSU coaching staff, current players and culture of Mustang softball.

Session I of the camp will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for pitchers and catchers only, while Session II will be for position players from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The camp is open to players in grades 8-12. The cost of the camp is $40 for pitchers and catchers (Session I) and $60 for position players (Session II). The cost for individuals wishing to attend both sessions is $85.  Check-in for Session I is 9:30 a.m., while check-in for Session II is 12:30 p.m.

There will be an opportunity to tour campus with current SMSU softball players immediately after the camp. The tour will last approximately 30-45 minutes.  Parents are welcome to attend as well and are encouraged to ask questions throughout the tour.
