PREP SPORTS ROUNDUP: Tigers go 1-1 at triangular

PIPESTONE – The Marshall Tigers defeated Luverne 45-20 and fell to Pipestone 41-28 at their triangular on Tuesday.

Against Luverne, Hsa La Eh, Noah Jensen, Dylan Dulas, Toby Semler, Elijah Sterner and Wyatt Martin each won by fall in the match. Grant Louwagie won by decision while Jaiden Bahr won by forfeit. Against Pipestone, Martin and Bahr won by fall and Connor Roth and Semler won by major decision. Dulas won by tech fall and Jackson Hughes won by decision.

JACKSON – The Marshall boys basketball team improved to 4-0 on the season with an 84-62 victory over Jackson County Central Tuesday night.

Zack Bloemker led the way for the Tigers with 27 points while Mitch Sueker added 19 and Weston Baker Magrath chipped in 16. Sueker and Magrath both led in rebounds with nine apiece, while Jake Hess led in assists with five.

SLAYTON – The Murray County Central boys basketball team defeated Ellsworth 68-27 Tuesday night.

Cole Bassett led the way for the Rebels with 18 points while Tyler Groves added 10 and Nate Everson chipped in nine. Brady Woldt led in rebounds with 10 while Everson chipped in three assists to add to the Rebel effort.

MCC led 42-19 at halftime and limited Ellsworth to just eight second-half points to earn the victory.

The Yellow Medicine East Sting took on the Minneota Vikings on Tuesday where the Sting fell to the Vikings 67-31.

Impressive for the Sting was Anna McCosh with 10 points and Meeghen Dahlager with eight points. YME had 12 turnovers and 27 rebounds on the night in their loss to Minneota. Lydia Sussner for Minneota marked up 17 points while Morgan Kockelman had 13. Minneota as a team had 25 rebounds and 13 turnovers in Tuesday’s win over YME.

Minneota is next scheduled to play Russell-Tyler-Ruthton on Friday while YME’s next matchup is against B.O.L.D on Thursday.
