PREP SPORTS ROUNDUP: Arrows down Lakers with perfect shooting

PIPESTONE – The Lakeview girls basketball team fell to the Pipestone Arrows 86-64 Monday night.

Sadie Stelter led the way for the Lakers with 22 points while Maddie Fenske added 20. Fenske also led in rebounds with 12 while Stelter led in assists and steals with four and three, respectively.

The Lakers fell behind 46-34 at the half and couldn’t recover, as the Arrows went perfect from the field, connecting on all 30 of their attempts.

Lakeview struggled from behind the arc, making just two of its 10 attempts.

Lakeview (2-4) will face Minneswaska Area on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Cottonwood.

LAMBERTON – The Red Rock Central boys basketball team defeated Sleepy Eye 66-43 Monday night.

Trevor Pederson led the way for the Falcons with 21 points while Luke Engen added 16 points, 23 rebounds and seven assists. Brady Rasmussen led in assists with eight.

Ben Laffen led the way for Sleepy Eye with 12 points while Zach Haala added 10.

The Falcons built an early 36-18 lead at halftime and held on for their third consecutive victory.

RRC (3-0) will face Russell-Tyler-Ruthton on Thursday in the Holiday Hoops tournament.

MINNEOTA – The Canby Lancers defeated the Minneota Vikings 78-75 on Friday.

Sawyer Hansen led the way for the Lancers with 24 points while Adam Durfee poured in 22 points on 8 of 10 shooting, including a perfect 7 of 7 from inside the perimeter.

Thomas Hennen led Minneota with 24 points while Logan Sussner and Nolan Boerboom each added 12 for the Vikings.

Minneota (1-1) will head to Lakeview today at 7:15 p.m. while Canby (2-0) will head to Yellow Medicine East today at 7:15 p.m.
