YOUTH HOCKEY: Marshall Pee Wee hockey opens 2016 season with split

MARSHALL? The Marshall Pee Wee A hockey team opened its season the past weekend, competing in the Hutchinson Pee Wee Tournament and finishing fifth overall, winning the consolation bracket.

Marshall PWA went 2-2, with losses to Litchfield Dassel Cokato (1-8) and Johnson Como North St. Paul (0-10), followed by wins over Windom (4-1) and Worthington (5-1).

Jared Reinsma scored the loan goal versus LDC. In both victories, Braxton Meyer scored all of Marshall’s goals – tallying nine for the weekend. Lincoln Mellenthin tended the net all four games for Marshall.

Marshall PWA opens up their regular season district schedule with a home game at Red Baron Arena versus Luverne on Sunday, Nov. 20 at 1:00 p.m.
