SMSU VOLLEYBALL: SMSU to host USF in NSIC quarterfinals Wednesday

MARSHALL The Southwest Minnesota State volleyball team (24-4, 18-2 NSIC) has earned the No. 2 seed and will host No. 7 seed the University of Sioux Falls (19-9, 13-7 NSIC) on Wednesday night in the quarterfinals of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Tournament. Match time is set for 7 p.m. in the PE Gym.

The NSIC office has announced the ticket policy for Wednesday’s match. Prices are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, $2 for general students, while children five and under are free.

The first 250 SMSU students-with a valid SMSU ID-will be admitted free courtesy of the SMSU Foundation and SMSU Alumni Office.

All spectators will be required to purchase a ticket, including SMSU season tickets holders. Tickets can be purchased at the PE Gym box office prior to the game or online at SMSUmustangs.com/tickets.

The semifinal and championship matches will take place this Saturday and Sunday at the highest remaining seed.

If SMSU wins on Wednesday night, its will face the winner of No. 3 Minnesota Duluth and No. 6 Wayne State on Saturday afternoon at either 12 p.m. or 2:30 p.m. The championship match will be Sunday starting at 2 p.m.

Southwest Minnesota State captured a share of the NSIC regular season title on Saturday-its first since 2012 and fourth in team history.
