Barack Obama has pledged to withdraw American troops from the war zone within 16 months if he wins the presidency. Do you agree with that timetable?

I'm sure those are the same kind of remarks British loyalists said about America when it wanted its independence. I Think the 12-year-old child analogy is pretty ignorant. More like a college student that only calls when it needs money. A better one, though, would be a country that has spent the last 5 years learning how to govern itself. Maybe its time to push this bird out of then nest, mama. Also, this is actually the second time we've been in Iraq, and it still hasn't been done right. Maybe a third time with a Democrat is the charm. Finally, Democrats aren't enamored with Obama, they've just unplugged themselves from the Repulican hive-mind and are open to something new. Take the blue pill, and free your mind.

Iraq is like a 12 year old kid. The child thinks he or she knows what it takes to be a grown up, but what would happen if you were to leave that child? The same thing would happen in Iraq. I think the parents (US) should stay involved to make sure they are steered in the right direction until they are truly ready to live on their own. It costs a lot less to do things right the first time.

Barack Obama is the prince of amateurs, as his timetable plan demonstrates. I am dumbfounded that the Democrat Party has become so enamored of him, and think it reflects the frustration we "common folk" have developed from our inability to establish a political middle ground.

He met with Iraqi officials. They seemed receptive to the same plan. Why let them run their own country if they want to. Seems like a good plan to me.
