As Jonathon Winters said " Hold a chicken under your right arm, pet a cow, do something for us - we've had a lot done for us already but something more."

When you compare the farm bill to other gov money wasted it is a pittance. Also take out give away welfare money and see what is left. When I look at all the free phones for votes, solyndra, shovel ready jobs and giving money to muslim brotherhood to disrupt other countries governments I see there is a lot more waste then the farm bill. Granted prices looked high the last few years but that was due to floods draught in some areas. I wonder how much the farmers paid in land tax compared to some town people who ar jealous. Its a common thing to see petty jealousy when somebody else gets a raise etc. If you want to join those rich farmers there is gov programs for beginning farmers just sign up and see how easy it is.

I voted yes, unfortunately. Why do we need to subsidize millionaires? New tractors and pickups every year to hide profit and reduce taxes. In Slayton they now have a farmer's corvette club. The rest of us will need our money to pay for "affordable" health care.

The next question should be "Do you favor subsidies to farmers?"

The question is really a two parter - farm bill and food stamp bill.

Both will be passed but not without some games.

Sorry farmers, but the farm bill is an entitlement program that the rest of us can't afford.

You want guaranteed pricing and no risk.
