n Fifth-Grade Tiger Football orientation clinic will be from 5:30-7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, and Thursday, Aug. 14, at the Marshall Middle School. Incoming fifth- grade football players will solidify their football equipment and be introduced to football positions and practice routines leading up to the first official practice - must be registered for the MCS fifth- and sixth-grade tackle football program. Fee: $10 per player.
n Tackle football (seventh- and eighth- grade girls and boys) will be from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday beginning Aug. 18 at the Marshall Middle School football complex. Up-to-date physicals are required and must be on record. Fee: $75 for residents, $93.75 for non-residents.
n Clicking with K9s Dog Obedience will be Tuesday evenings beginning Aug. 19 through Sept. 23 at 6:30 p.m. Class is six sessions: one orientation session at the Adult Community Center without dogs and five training sessions with dogs at Independence Park. Focus is on basic obedience and manners. Dogs will learn sit, stay, come when called, settle on mat, targeting, polite leash walking and more. There is a $2 fee for clickers, due orientation night. Fee: $40 for residents, $50 for non-residents.
n Planning for a Confident Retirement will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, at Ameriprise Office (408 E. Main St., Building 2, Suite 10) . This class will cover where retirement income comes from, how much money is needed to retire, how much money should be invested, what age Social Security should be drawn and more. Fee: $5 per person.
n Tackle football (fifth- and sixth-grade girls and boys) will begin on Tuesday, Aug. 26. Practices are from 5:30-7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Marshall Middle School football complex. Games are played on Saturday mornings. Up-to-date physicals are required and must be on record. Fee: $70 for residents, $87.50 for non-residents.
n Junior Flag Football (second- through fourth-grade girls and boys) will begin Aug. 26. Practice will be Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning Aug. 26 with the choice of 3:30-4:20 p.m., 4:30-5:20 p.m., 5:30-6:20 p.m. or 6:30-7:20 p.m. practice time. Saturday morning games will begin on Sept. 6. All practices and games will be at Legion Fields. Fee: $35 for residents, $43.75 for non-residents.
