MARSHALL - Thursday's sunny weather provided a lovely backdrop for Crazy Daze shoppers wanting to stroll among sales displays throughout Marshall.
Sole-Mates on Main Street was a popular draw for females of all ages, with a variety of shoes selling for $10 and $20. Gayle Birath of Marshall tried on a pair of sandals at the Sole-Mates display.
She said she likes to see "Main Street come alive." She just came from Borch's where the shoes are half price. She planned on eating lunch downtown and visiting other shops such as Blue/Green.

Sydney Matthys hunts for some bargains for back-to-school clothes at Borch’s Sporting Goods.
The day of discount shopping is a "transition to the next (merchandising) season, a nice way to clear out old stuff," she said.
Hats, gloves and scarves were on sale for 50 cents each at Thrifty White Pharmacy. Susan Honken of Raymond noted there were towels and sandals as well for 50 cents and "all kinds of goodies."
She bought some dish towels at Thrifty White and also shopped at Treasured Times.
"There was lots of fun stuff at the scrapbooking store," she said.
The parking area in front of Borch's Sporting Goods was humming with shopping activity. Sydney Matthys and her brother, Ethan Matthys, were scanning the racks for back-to-school clothes. Ethan Matthys had his eye out for "anything that's cheap - shoes, T-shirts..."
Sydney Matthys was looking for sweatpants and sweatshirts that she can wear at the University of Minnesota, Duluth.
"I'm looking for clothes that will last me in the years to come," she said.
Another popular spot for shoppers was Maurices at the Market Street Mall where throngs of young women looked over rack upon rack of priced-down clothing, including pretty summer blouses for $5 each.
