MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Authorities say the teenage boy who drowned in a Minneapolis lake was swimming with teammates after football practice.
Fifteen-year-old Sha-Kym Adams was entering his sophomore year at Minneapolis South High School, where he was a wide receiver on the football team.
Hennepin County Sheriff's Lt. Art Saunders says some of Adams' team members heard him cry out in distress as they swam to a floating dock in Lake Nokomis. The boys tried to find Adams after he disappeared under water.
The Star Tribune (http://strib.mn/1y9ywpL ) says his body was recovered about two hours later.
Students and families are planning on holding a vigil at the beach Thursday afternoon.
