Winona State announces dean's list for spring term
Winona State University announces the dean's list for spring term 2014. To be named to the dean's list, a student must be an undergraduate enrolled full time (at least 12 credit hours for a grade) and achieve a minimum grade point average of 3.5.
Area students are: Taylor Miller, Melanie Smisek, Jordan Soehl and Mary Yang, Marshall; Kelli Van Leeuwe, Ghent.
Reyes receives honors and awards at the University of Minnesota, Morris
Luis Reyes of Hanley Falls is a recipient of the Raymond J. Lammers Award in the Language Arts and Bos Undergraduate Research Award from Morris.
The Raymond J. Lammers Award in the Language Arts was established in memory of Raymond J. Lammers, professor emeritus of theater, this award is presented to seniors majoring in and demonstrating an outstanding undergraduate career in one of the following disciplines: theater, English, foreign language, or communication, media and rhetoric. Lammers was one of the first Morris faculty members and figured prominently in the creation of the theater major and theater program.
The UMM Bos Research Fund was established to enhance the successful undergraduate research experiences of UMM students. Funds are made available to cover expenses for travel, conference registration and other costs associated with the pursuit of undergraduate research opportunities. All students are eligible to participate.
Students were recognized in a special honors and award ceremony on May 9 at the Morris campus.
Area students on UND spring 2014 president's roll of honor
The University of North Dakota released its 2014 spring semester president's roll of honor.
To qualify for the president's roll of honor, a student must have an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.80 or higher. The student must also have earned a minimum of 30 semester hours and have completed a minimum of 12 hours at the close of the semester, eight of which must be fore traditional letter grades. Area students are: Clarkfield - Amy Tongen; Dawson - Kelsey Lee; Marshall - Morgan Larsen.
Local students named to CSB dean's list
Three local students have earned the distinction of being named to the dean's list for the 2014 spring semester at the College of Saint Benedict.
Nicole Noyes, the daughter of Ken and Janice Noyes of Marshall. Noyes is a senior biology major at CSB.

McVey named to SJU dean's list
Adam McVey, the son of Bruce and Laurie McVey of Marshall, has earned the distinction of being named to the dean's list for the 2014 spring semester at St. John's University. McVey is a first-year chemistry major at SJU.
To be included on the dean's list, students must have a semester grade-point average of at least 3.80 and have completed 12 credits for which honor points (A, B, C, etc.) are awarded.
Students included on the dean's list cannot have any unsatisfactory or incomplete grades for that semester.
Roiger receives degrees from BSU
Andrew Roiger of Dawson was one of 543 students who completed undergraduate degree requirements at Bemidji State University and graduated at the conclusion of the 2014 spring semester.
He received a bachelor of science in accounting, summa cum laude and a bachelor of science in business administration, summa cum laude.
