MARSHALL - Another burglary has taken place at Borch's Sporting Goods, Marshall Police said.
When Marshall Police arrived at Borch's after responding to an alarm there at 4:24 a.m. Thursday they found glass broken on an outer door. Officers entered and found that a person or persons had entered, broken the display case and took several guns. The suspect(s) left the store and fled the area prior to the officers' arrival.
The incident remains under investigation.
This is the second reported burglary at Borch's Sporting Goods in the last eight months.
A car was driven through the entrance of the store at 2:41 a.m. on Oct. 30 and was then abandoned. A display case at the store's handgun counter was smashed and firearms were stolen. The car was found to be one that was reported stolen in Worthington. In November, Worthington Police arrested three people in connection with the burglary. Worthington Police said a Worthington woman, her adult son, and a 17-year-old juvenile were arrested after being pulled over in a traffic stop. Complaints filed in Nobles County District Court alleged that several guns stolen from Borch's were found in the suspects' possession. No local chargers were filed.
Marshall Police Chief Rob Yant said law enforcement's concerned is heightened any time firearms are stolen.
"Our biggest concern is that guns were taken," he said. "We're asking anyone who either saw something or heard something to let us know."
Yant said "multiple" guns were stolen.
