g Middle-inning woes plague Mustangs during NSIC losses to Minnesota State

ST. PETER - Minnesota State scored seven runs in the bottom of the fifth to break a 1-1 tie and defeat Southwest Minnesota State 9-3 in game one of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference twinbill. MSU won the nightcap 2-0 behind a six-hit shutout by Brittany Lauterbach. The Mavericks have now won 14 straight games and improve to 24-6 overall, 8-0 NSIC. SMSU drops to 6-18 overall, 3-5 NSIC.
