ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
The City of Marshall, Minnesota, will receive bids in the Council Chambers of the Municipal Building at 344 West Main Street in Marshall, Minnesota, until 10:00 a.m. on April 16, 2014, for the following project in MARSHALL, MINNESOTA:
Project Z28: North 5th STREET / Pleasant Avenue Reconstruction Project This project consists of the reconstruction of streets and utilities on North 5th Street from West Marshall Street to Pleasant Avenue and Pleasant Avenue from North 5th Street to North 6th Street. Items included in the project are sanitary sewer, watermain and storm sewer replacement, curb and gutter, sidewalk reconstruction, bituminous surfacing, aggregate base, grading and other minor work.
Estimated quantities of major work items for the project are as follows:
12 IN. P.V.C. SANITARY SEWER 423 L.F. AGGREGATE BASE, CLASS 5 2,165 C.Y.
8 IN. P.V.C. SANITARY SEWER 845 L.F. CONCRETE CURB & GUTTER 2,853 L.F.
6 IN. P.V.C. WATERMAIN 1,436 L.F. 6 IN. CONCRETE DRIVEWAY 611 S.Y.
COMMON EXCAVATION 2,500 C.Y. PAVEMENT
4 IN. CONCRETE WALK 13,807 S.F. TYPE SP 12.5 WEARING COURSE 1,300 TON
Immediately following expiration of the time for receiving bids, the City Clerk/Financial Director and Director of Public Works/City Engineer or their designee will publicly open bids in the Council Chambers of the Municipal Building at 344 West Main Street.
All bidders are required to become acquainted with the extent of the work and the conditions under which the work will be performed.
All bids shall be made on the printed proposal forms of the City incorporated in the Project Manual and shall be accompanied by a cash deposit, cashier's check, bid bond or certified check, payable to the order of the City for not less than 10% of the bid.
Bids shall be directed to the City Clerk/Financial Director, securely sealed and endorsed upon the outside wrapper with a brief statement for the summary as to the work for which the bid is made.
The City Council reserves the right to reject any or all bids or any part of any bid, to waive minor defects, technicalities, or any informalities in the bidding or to advertise for new proposals, and to accept that bid deemed to be in the City's best interest.
Plans and Specifications are on file at the Office of the City Engineer located at 344 West Main Street, Marshall, MN 56258, telephone: 507-537-6773. Vendors who desire specifications may secure them from the City Engineer. Copies of the plans and specifications will be furnished on request to any prospective bidder upon a deposit of $50.00 (nonrefundable) made payable to the City of Marshall or downloaded through eGram at egram.marshallmn.com.
The bids and the responsibility of the bidders will be considered by the City Council at 5:30 P.M. on Tuesday, April 22, 2014, in the Professional Development Room at the Marshall Middle School, 401 South Saratoga Street.
No bidder may withdraw his bid for at least 90 days after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids.
