MARSHALL - It was a treacherous drive for all four of the teams who made their way to Marshall for the Class A Section 3 Tournament semifinals, but the teams that walked away with a victory made the trip back home a little less rigorous.
The Canby Lancers were one of those teams, beating Dawson-Boyd 66-62 Tuesday night.
"This game could have went either way," Canby coach Kevin Hansen said. "We felt that we had a mismatch with Kallhoff and we needed her to score for us to be successful. When she got scoring opportunities, that helped us extend the lead."

Dawson-Boyd held a 45-38 lead with 13:37 to go in the second half and Kallhoff had just seven points. She would score 13 over the remaining 13 minutes to help the Lancers take a 57-47 lead with 6:30 to go in the game.
Kallhoff finished with 20 points and nine rebounds. She had plenty of help from fellow senior Morgan Merritt, who finished with 26 points, six assists and two steals. Sydney Sisk finished with eight points on the night.
Dawson-Boyd coach Doug Wold felt his team hit a snag on offense during that stretch that allowed the Lancers to get back in the game.
"I felt we got a little stagnant on offense in the second half when they tried a box-and-one. We didn't attack that the way we should have. We tried to contain Morgan Merritt, but she is a very good player. Kallhoff came through and hit some shots for them in the second half."
Justine Lee and Katarina Kuhlmann put in 19 and 15 points respectively to go with 12 from Kelly Husby. The Lancers kept the Blackjacks in check from the three-point line, as they went just 3-12 from behind the arc, normally a strength for the club.
Dawson-Boyd played with an undersized lineup all season and made the most of their ability this season.
"The kids played their hearts out," Wold said. "We're undersized and we've had to find other ways to rebound and try and score. We don't always have the height advantage. To win 19 games, with being undersized a lot, we're proud of that."
