WOMENS BASKETBALL: SMSU falls at U-Mary

BISMARCK, N.D. - The Southwest Minnesota State University women's basketball team fell 73-65 to University of Mary in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action on Friday. Alison Nagel scored a game-high 22 points for SMSU in the loss.

SMSU built its largest lead of the game at 10 points with 4:33 to play in the first half, but U-Mary closed the gap to just three as the first half ended. SMSU shot 51.5 percent from the floor in the half and made 17 field goals.

The Mustangs couldn't keep the hot shooting going in the second half, shotting just 33.3 percent in the second half and scored just 25 points after scoring 40 in the first.

SMSU will be back in action today at Minot State.
