GIRLS BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Knights record victory over Rebels

TYLER - The Russell-Tyler-Ruthton girls basketball team defeated Murray County Central 62-43 in Tyler on Friday night.

Ashlynn Wabeke led the Knights with 17 points while Justine Possail added 12 points and eight rebounds.

Morgan Behrends had a 19-point, 11-rebound double-double for the Rebels. Jade Giese scored 12 in the loss.

Taylor Reiss led the Vikings with 27 points and seven rebounds. Emily Stienessen pitched in with 10 points.

COTTONWOOD - The Lakeview girls advance to 6-6 on the season after defeating Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunberg 77-38.

Brianna Hoffman inspired the Lakers with her 14 points, ten rebound double-double. Hoffman also contributed defensively with six blocks. Sadie Stelter knocked-down 23 points, four assists and three steals in the victory.

Brooklyn Hartle added seven points, five rebounds and three steals.

The Saints were led by Maddi Strandberg, contributing 15 points, seven rebounds and five steals.

ELKTON, S.D. - The Elkton/Lake Benton girls basketball team fell just short of handing Deubrook Area its first loss of the season, losing 45-44 on Friday night.

Morgan Carmody led the Elks with 15 points while Elizabeth Hegerfeld scored 12. Kelsey Kinner pulled down nine rebounds while grabbing five steals in the loss.

Elkton/Lake Benton will be in action on Tuesday when they travel Arlington to start the Dakota Valley Conference Tournament.

TRACY - Justine Lee chipped in 27 points, seven assists and five steals as Dawson-Boyd defeated Tracy-Milroy-Balaton 69-57 in Camden Conference girls basketball action Friday in Tracy.

Katarina Kuhlmann collected 16 points for the Blackjacks, while Kelly Husby had 10. Justine Flattum added 10 rebounds.

Cassie Hook led the Panthers with 16 points, followed by Jessie Nelson (9), Sammie Gervais (9) and Sara Stoneberg (8). Kassidy Przymus and Morgan Hoffbeck each hauled down six rebounds, while Przymus and Stoneberg contributed three assists apiece.

ELLSWORTH - Red Rock Central had four players with double-digit scoring as the team hammered Ellsworth 76-40 Friday in Ellsworth.

Ramsey Piotter contributed 18 points and five assists for the Falcons, while Rachel Kedl chipped in 14 points and 13 rebounds. Erika Rogotzke tallied 12 points and three steals, while Melanie Kedl collected 11 points and 17 boards.

Alexa Huisman led the Panthers with 18 points.
