BOYS BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Lancers preserve win against Eagles

MADISON - The Canby boys basketball team claimed a road victory over Lac qui Parle Valley 63-50 in Camden Conference action on Friday night in Madision.

Josh Gallegos had a double-double for the Lancers, scoring 18 points while pulling down 10 rebounds. Michael Slaba also recorded a 17-point, 12-assist double-double in the win.

Zach Nuy and Kristian Leppke added 18 and 10 respectively.

Canby will be in action again on Monday when they play host to Fulda while LQPV will travel to Tyler to face Russell-Tyler-Ruthton on Tuesday.

DAWSON - Dawson-Boyd boys trampled Tracy-Milroy-Balaton 76-40 and remain undefeated this season with a record of 12-0.

Jess Hansen and Noah Stelter were hot from behind the three-point line combining for nine three's total with five and four, respectively. Michael Lee led the Blackjack's in scoring with 21 points and added 15 rebounds for a double-double.

Also in the double-digits was Hansen (19), Stelter(13) and Joey Lee (13). Joey and Michael Lee contributed five assists each.

The Panthers were led by Josh Kirk with 15 points and seven rebounds. Spencer Smith added five points, four rebounds and three assists in the effort.

Dawson-Boyd will be back in action today when they take on Worthington. TMB will play Westbrook-Walnut Grove on Tuesday.

LAMBERTON - The Red Rock Central boys basketball team fell to Southwest Minnesota Christian 79-40 in Red Rock Conference action on Friday night.

The Falcons wer led by Thomas Blomgren's 10 points. Sam Halter added 9 points with five assists and three steals.

RRC will be in action again on Monday when they play host to Sleepy Eye Saint Mary's in Lamberton.

KERKHOVEN - The Lakeview Lakers (5-9) sunk Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg in a 62-22 Camden conference win.

Jonah Dovre controlled the floor, securing a double-double for the Lakers with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Dovre also knocked-down three blocked shots. Max Horner contributed seven points and five assists. Bayley Enstad recorded six points and three steals.

Lakeview will host Central Minnesota Christian on Monday.

RENVILLE - Minneota/Lincoln Hi ran away from conference rival RCW 84-37.

The Vikings had four players in double-digits including Dylan Tolk (22), Austin Buysse (13), Daniel Harrison (12) and Jordan Beck (12). Harrison and Beck contributed seven and six rebounds, respectively. Tolk and Buysse each handed-put four assists.

RCW's Ian Engtrom had 20 points to lead the Jaguars. Brady Holwerda contributed four assists.

Minneota/Lincoln HI will host Edgerton in Ivanhoe Tuesday.

GRANITE FALLS - Taylor Larson dropped in 35 points as Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City routed Yellow Medicine East 92-64 Friday in Granite Falls.

Colton Minnick added 25 points and 10 rebounds for the Falcons.

Austin Vikander and Blake Lindstrom led the Sting with 14 points, while Logan DeBlieck had 11 and Chase Richter 10. DeBlieck also grabbed six rebounds in the contest.

YME is on the road against Melrose on Tuesday.

SLAYTON - Despite holding a 33-32 lead at the half, Murray County Central fell 59-56 to Ellsworth in Red Rock Conference boy basketball action Friday in Slayton.

Grant Rohrer, Jaden Boerboom and Grant Everson scored 13, 12 and 11, respectively, for the Rebels. Rohrer hauled down nine rebounds, while Logan Kluis grabbed six. Everson added three assists.

Drew Cheskie led the Panthers with 22 points, while Mitchell Leuthold had 16.

MCC is back on the court against Adrian on Thursday in Adrian.

Randy Knutson also chipped in a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds for the Chargers, while Alex Knutson added 12 points and seven assists.

Taylor Recker led the Dragons with 19 points, while Brady Lonneman had 15.

ELKTON - The Elkton-LB boys had four players in double-digits in its 63-41 win over Deubrook.

Nathan Krog led the team with 18 points, seven rebounds and five steals. Heath Schindler contributed 16 points, eight assists and three steals.
