MARSHALL - Ivan Lopez, 19, of Marshall, pleaded guilty in Lyon County District Court Jan. 6 to charges of fifth degree controlled substance crime, court records said. Lopez sold marijuana in Marshall on Jan. 6, 2013, court records said. Lopez received a three-year stay of adjudication and three years probation with conditions including serve 45 days in jail, pay a fine and restitution, and abide by laws.

MARSHALL - Cory Bee Jones, 31, of Marshall, pleaded guilty in Lyon County District Court Jan. 7 to charges of violation of a harassment restraining order, court records said. Jones violated a restraining order in Marshall on Dec. 10, court records said. Jones was sentenced to 21 months in prison, with 29 days credit. Additional charges of fifth degree controlled substance crime were dismissed.

MARSHALL - Jill Fay Doom, 58, of Marshall, entered an Alford plea in Lyon County District Court Jan. 7 to charges of theft, court records said. A complaint alleges Doom stole items valued at more than $500 from a Marshall business on Oct. 4. Doom received a stayed sentence of one year in jail and was sentenced to pay a $400 fine and two years probation with conditions including abide by laws and complete 50 hours of community service. In an Alford plea, a defendant does not admit guilt but admits there would be enough evidence for a jury to convict him or her in a trial.

MARSHALL - Jennifer Ann Selfe, 42, of Lucan, appeared in Lyon County District Court Jan. 7 on charges of driving without insurance, driving after revocation and displaying revoked license plates. A complaint alleges Selfe drove without insurance in Lyon County on Nov. 14 and had two prior convictions for driving without insurance. The court found probable cause for the charges, and a hearing was set for Jan. 21.

MARSHALL - Jeffrey Robert Kissner, 46, of Marshall, pleaded guilty in Lyon County District Court Jan. 7 to charges of driving after cancellation - inimical to public safety, court records said. Kissner drove with a canceled license in Marshall on Sept. 28, court records said. Kissner received a two-year stay of adjudication and two years probation with conditions including pay a $400 fine, complete 50 hours of community service and abide by laws.

MARSHALL - Javier Virgen, 41, of Marshall, pleaded guilty in Lyon County District Court Jan. 7 to charges of domestic assault, court records said. Virgen assaulted a woman in Marshall on Nov. 12, court records said. Virgen was sentenced to one year in jail, with credit for 57 days already served.

MARSHALL - Mario Gonzalez, 43, of Rush City, was sentenced in Lyon County District Court Jan. 7 for charges of fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle, reckless driving, driving after revocation and possession of drug paraphernalia. Gonzalez fled a traffic stop in Lyon County on June 30, court records said. Gonzalez received a stayed sentence of 17 months in prison, a $100 fine and three years probation with conditions including serve 210 days in jail with credit for 181 days already served, obtain a chemical use assessment and abide by laws.

MARSHALL - Marvin O Guido Mendoza, 29, of Marshall, pleaded guilty in Lyon County District Court Jan. 7 to charges of driving after cancellation - inimical to public safety, court records said. Mendoza drove with a canceled license in Marshall on Oct. 21, court records said. Mendoza received a stayed sentence of one year in jail, a $400 fine and two years probation with conditions including complete 50 hours of community service, and do not drive unlawfully.

MARSHALL - Shawn Nicholas Stefansen, 32, of Minneota, pleaded guilty in Lyon County District Court Jan. 7 to charges of third degree assault, court records said. Stefansen assaulted a man in Lyon County on Nov. 2, court records said. Stafansen received a stayed sentence of 18 months in prison, a $500 fine and five years probation with conditions including serve 180 days in jail with credit for 14 days already served, abstain from alcohol and drugs and do not enter bars or liquor stores.

MARSHALL - Matthew Alan Schirmacher, 26, of Lynd, appeared in Lyon County District Court Jan. 8 on two counts of third degree driving while impaired charges. A complaint alleges Schirmacher drove with an alcohol level of .13 in Marshall on Nov. 22. A hearing was set for Jan. 21. Bail was set at $12,000 without conditions, or with conditions including appear in court, abstain from alcohol and drugs and do not enter bars or liquor stores.
