The term "jack-of-all-trades" could have been created for Stan. He had many skills and many jobs including everything from building homes to driving truck to medical transport. There wasn't anything he couldn't build or make. He owned businesses including a grocery store, construction business, chainsaw sharpening and repair, antique store, and was a licensed gun dealer.

Stan loved hunting and fishing from early on in life, both activities he enjoyed sharing with friends and family. He loved children, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved animals, often carrying dog treats in his pocket in the case that he'd happen upon one. He loved to play pranks on those around him, and tell jokes, with his easy laugh and frequent smile. He talked to strangers everywhere he went and made many friends throughout his lifetime. He was always known to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Stan passed away in Granite Falls on Jan. 8, 2014, at the age of 77 years.
