LUVERNE - Marshall's Callie Graff was a threat at both ends of the court as the Tigers cruised to a 69-21 Southwest Conference victory against Luverne on Friday.

Graff scored 11 points, made five steals, blocked a shot and made her only free throw as MHS went 8 of 8 in charity attempts.

"We defended really well, made some steals and turned them into easy baskets," Marshall head coach Dan Westby said. "Early-on, our kids played with lots of energy and that helped give us a good start."

The Tigers, ranked No. 8 in Class 2A, led 40-14 after 18 minutes. Marshall scored 29 of the final 36 points to become 6-0 overall and 4-0 in Southwest action.

Hannah Bennett led MHS in three statistical categories with 13 points, six rebounds and four assists. Kenzie Beekman added 11 points as the Tigers placed three scorers in double figures.

"Callie had a great all-around performance,"?Westby said. "But one thing that has really helped us is that we have a variety of kids who can step and lead us, statistically, in different areas every night."

Westby was pleased with his players and their willingness to share the ball. Marshall had 17 assists on 29 field goals.

"Our kids were extremely unselfish with the basketball," Westby said.

Nikki Severson led Luverne (5-2, 2-1) with seven points.

The Tigers host Mankato East in a non-conference game at 4:30 p.m. today.
