PREP SPORTS ROUNDUP: D-B rolls to fourth win of season

DAWSON - The Dawson-Boyd boys basketball team continued its win streak, defeating Lac Qui Parle Valley 77-37 in Camden Confernece North Division action on Thursday.

The Blackjacks, who are ranked No. 5 in Class A, were led by Joey Lee, who had 21 points and eight assists. Michael Lee scored 18, while pulling down seven rebounds and Jess Hansen added 15 points in the win.

Dawson-Boyd (4-0, 4-0 Camden North) will play host to Central Minnesota Christian at 7:30 p.m. today in Dawson.

COTTONWOOD - Heading to the free throw line 37 times, the Minneota/Lincoln HI boys basketball team defeated Lakeview 67-49 in a Camden Conference South Division battle Thursday.

The Vikings had three players in double-digits with Jordan Beck scoring 18 points, Nathan Pavek having 17 more and Daniel Harrison posting 16. Beck also had nine rebounds and one blocked shot. Pavek picked up four steals, defensively, for the Vikings.

Max Horner led the Lakers after draining 13 points. Jaden Hoffman had an impressive overall performance, contributing ten rebounds, four points, four assists and two blocked shots. Jonah Dovre added 11 points and two blocked shots.

Minneota/Lincoln HI plays Ortonville on Dec. 27th, while Lakeview comptetes in the Candy Cane Classic in Ivanhoe today.

PAYNESVILLE - Yellow Medicine East fell short in its 66-55 loss to Paynesville Area on Thursday..

Logan DeBlieck paced the Sting with 17 points. He was followed by Blake Lindstrom with 12.

YME racked-up 32 rebounds with eight from DeBlieck and five from Austin Vikander and Chase Richter. Vikander also contributed nine points in the effort.

The Sting were within striking distance of the Bulldogs at halftime, trailing 29-28. Paynesville Area was able to close-out the victory by outscoring YME 37-27 in the second half.

Minneota/Lincoln HI 33, KMS 25

MINNEOTA - The Minneota/Lincoln HI wrestling team won eight weight classes en route to a 33-25 Camden Conference dual victory against Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg on Thursday.

The Vikings (4-0 overall, 2-0 Camden) received pins from Eric Hauswedell (106), Landyn VanOverbeke (126) and Alec Engler (152). The rest of the Minneota/Lincoln HI wins came as decision from Brock Buysse (113), Brendan Reiss (120), Bryce Bruner (138), Nick Esping (160) and Nathan Bueltel (195).

On Saturday, the Vikings compete at the Frazee Individual Tournament.
