PREP BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Panthers turn back Lakers

TRACY - Tracy-Milroy-Balaton dominated the second half of its 68-36 Camden Conference South Division win over Lakeview on Monday.

The Panthers led 28-20 after 18 minutes, but outscored the Lakers 40-16 during the final 18 minutes.

Cassie Hook scored 18 points to lead TMB (5-1 overall, 3-1 Camden South), while Sammie Gervais produced 14 more.

The Panthers held an 18-6 advantage from 3-point range and a 16-6 edge at the free-throw line.

Sadie Stelter led Lakeview (3-2, 2-2) with 10 points.

TMB plays Adrian in the Red Rock Central Invitational at 6 p.m. Friday. Lakeview plays at Class A No. 1-ranked Minneota, also on Friday.

IVANHOE - Alexa Huisman scored 30 of Ellsworth's 42 points during a non-conference victory against Lincoln HI on Monday.

Huisman knocked down six 3-pointers, including one that gave the Panthers the lead for good late in the second half. After that, Ellsworth posted the win by hitting its free throws.

Trailing 21-12 at halftime, the Rebels scored 25 of the next 39 points to take a 37-35 lead with two minutes left.

Lincoln HI's Morgan Citterman produced a double-double of 15 rebounds and 12 points, while teammate Brandi Barke connected with four 3-pointers for 12 points. Heidi Pavek had a pair of 3-point shots en route to scoring 10 points before leaving the game on fouls.

The Rebels (1-4 overall) play at Canby in a Camden Conference South Division game Firday.

SLAYTON - Pipestone Area pulled away from Murray County Central during the second half of a 51-41 non-conference victory Saturday.

The Arrows led 26-25 at halftime before winning the final 18 minutes with a 25-16 advantage.

Sierra Van Iperen led the Rebels (1-3 overall) with 11 points, while Jade Giese chipped in nine more.

MCC plays a Red Rock Conference game against Southwestern United at 7:30 p.m. today at Okabena.

COTTONWOOD - Balanced scoring helped Tracy-Milroy-Balaton post a 71-59 Camden Conference South Division victory against Lakeview on Monday.

Four Panthers - Josh Kirk (17 points), Riley Kirk (14), Spencer Smith (14) and Brett Swenhaugen (13) - scored in double figures as TMB improved to 4-2 overall and 3-1 versus the Camden South.

Tracy-Milroy-Balaton built a 39-28 lead after 18 minutes before using a 32-31 edge in the second half to secure the win.

Johan Dove produced a double-double of 14 points and 12 rebounds for Lakeview (2-3, 0-3). Bailey Enstad added 12 points and Max Horner contributed 10 more.

The Panthers host Pipestone Area on Friday, while the Lakers play Southwestern United at the Candy Cane Classic on Friday in Ivanhoe.
