FLORENCE, Ala. - The voting has concluded for the NCAA Division II College Football Player of the Year Award, and while the results of that voting won't be announced until Dec. 20, three players have received invitations to attend the 28th Annual Harlon Hill Trophy Presentation Banquet for the naming of the top player in Division II.

Southwest Minnesota State University junior running back Tyler Tonderum - one of nine national finalists - was not chosen as one of the top three players.

Senior running back Franklyn Quiteh of Bloomsburg University (Pa.), junior quarterback Kevin Rodgers of Henderson State (Ark.) University and senior quarterback Dustin Vaughan of West Texas A&M University have emerged as the top three vote-getters from a field of nine finalists in voting by the sports information directors at the 169 schools that compete in Division II football.

Other finalists for the 2013 award were senior quarterback Luke Charles of the University of North Carolina-Pembroke, senior running back Glen Clinton of Chadron State College, senior quarterback Bo Cordell of Tusculum (Tenn.) College, senior running back Rondell White of West Chester (Pa.) University and senior quarterback Jon Wolf of Minnesota State University.

Tonderum, who has been named first team all-conference and first team all-region this season, rushed for a school record 2,145 yards with a school record 19 touchdowns. He is just the 25th player in Division II history to rush for more than 2,000 yards in a single-season.

Tonderum, a native of Armstrong, Iowa, was the first region or national finalist for the Harlon Hill Trophy in school history.

SMSU finished the 2013 season with a record of 7-5, finished fourth in the 16-team Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference and played in the Mineral Water Bowl.
