BOYS BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Canby hammers Lakeview, improves to 4-0

COTTONWOOD - The Canby boys basketball team opened the Camden Conference South Division season with a 65-30 win over Lakeview to stay perfect on the season.

Michael Slaba led the Lancers with 22 points while McKinley Johansen and Kristian Leppke added 11 and 12 respectively.

Grant Taylor led the Lakers with eight points while Jaden Hoffman scored 7.

Both teams are in action next Tuesday when Lakeview travels to Tyler to face Russell-Tyler-Ruthton while Canby plays host to Tracy-Milroy-Balaton.

CANBY 65, LAKEVIEW 30

WABASSO - The Wabasso boys basketball team defeated New Ulm Cathedral 56-48 in Tomahawk Conference play on Friday.

Neil Eichten had 27 points to go with four steals and four assists while Tanner Bock had a 10-point, 23-rebound double-double.

The Rabbits (2-1, 2-0 conf.) will travel to Westbrook today to play Westbrook-Walnut Grove in non-conference action.

LAMBERTON - The Westbrook-Walnut Grove boys basketball team broke into the win column on Friday, defeating Red Rock Central 71-45 in a non-conference match-up on Friday.

Alex Knutson and Matt Otto each scored 15 for the Chargers while Shane Buchman and Tristan Joel added 14 and 10 respectively.

Sam Halter paced the Falcons with 14 while Austin Price scored 10.

WWG will travel to Wabasso today while RRC will face Southwest United in Okabena on Tuesday.
