Court revives librarian's sexual harassment claim

July 10, 2014
Associated Press

LAKE CITY, Minn. (AP) — A Minnesota appeals court has revived a sexual harassment claim filed by a library administrator in Wabasha County District Court.

The appeals court says Sheryl Mooers allegations of harassment against former Lake City Mayor Jerrry Dunbar must be heard. A district court judge last fall dismissed Mooers' lawsuit, which also included allegations that she was wrongfully fired and that the city violated open meetings laws. The appeals court ruled this week that only the sexual harassment claim should move forward.

Mooers claims Dunbar showed up at her apartment uninvited and make unwelcome sexual advances that she rejected. Dunbar did not immediately return a call seeking comment.

The Post-Bulletin (http://bit.ly/1qneIgf ) says a new court date for the claim to be heard in Wabasha County District Court has not been set.
