Good luck at Prep Bowl

THUMBS UP: Good luck to the Minneota-Lincoln HI and Dawson-Boyd football teams, as they are both playing in their respective state championship games at the 2014 Prep Bowl this weekend. The Class AA Vikings play today, while the Class A Blackjacks take the field at the Metrodome on Saturday. It has been a memorable season for both of these great teams, and win or lose, they should be proud of all their accomplishments this season.

Iran deal

THUMBS DOWN: The nuclear deal recently reached between the Iran and six world powers, including the U.S., doesn't go far enough for us. Many U.S. politicians, including some Democrats, are hardly on board with the agreement that gives Tehran six months to increase access to its nuclear sites. It would also allow for more intrusive international monitoring of Iran's facilities and give the country relief from economic sanctions, along with a pledge from President Barack Obama that no new penalties will be levied during that six-month window. Most say the deal doesn't go far enough and agree. Can the six world powers really trust the leaders of Iran? And if not, how can they strike such a soft deal? It's hard to imagine how so many countries that doubt Iran's motives for enriching uranium can be on board with this deal, which even one Iranian lawmaker called a "poison chalice."
