MARSHALL - Johnny Anthony Garcia, 19, of Marshall, was sentenced in Lyon County District Court Nov. 12 for burglary and fleeing a peace officer on foot, court records said. Garcia entered a residence in Marshall on Aug. 30 and later fled police, court records said. Garcia received a stay of imposition of sentence, a $500 fine and five years probation with conditions including take a class, do not have contact with the victims, and abide by laws. Additional charges of trespassing were dismissed.

MARSHALL - William Joseph Heidecker, 19, of Marshall, pleaded guilty in Lyon County District Court Nov. 12 to charges of motor vehicle theft and fifth degree controlled substance crime, court records said. Heidecker drove a stolen vehicle in Marshall on Sept. 15, and was in possession of a controlled substance, court records said. Heidecker received a stay of imposition of sentence, a $500 fine and five years probation with conditions including serve 120 days in jail with credit for 59 days already served, abstain from alcohol and drugs, and abide by laws. Additional charges of possession of stolen property and no Minnesota driver's license were dismissed.

MARSHALL - Syrrome James Phylip Moos, 28, of Marshall, pleaded guilty by way of an Alford plea in Lyon County District Court Nov. 12 to charges of domestic assault, court records said. A complaint alleges Moos assaulted a woman in Marshall on Oct. 3. In an Alford plea, a defendant does not admit guilt, but admits there would be enough evidence for a jury to convict him or her in a trial. A sentencing hearing for Moos was set for Dec. 10.

MARSHALL - Joshua Cyriel Polfliet, 37, of Ghent, appeared in Lyon County District Court Nov. 12 on charges of third degree driving while impaired - refusal to test, fourth degree driving while impaired, and no insurance. A complaint alleges Polfliet drove while impaired in Lyon County on Sept. 20. A hearing was set for Dec. 10.

MARSHALL - Leonard Richard Smith, 65, of Marshall, appeared in Lyon County District Court Nov. 12 on two counts of fifth degree controlled substance crime charges. A complaint alleges Smith sold marijuana in Marshall in November 2012. The court found probable cause for the charges, and a hearing was set for Nov. 26.
