MINNEAPOLIS - The Minneota/Lincoln HI Vikings have earned the right to play for the MSHSL Class 2A Football State Tournament championship.
Austin Buysse threw a pair of touchdown passes to Jordan Beck and ran for another, while Nathan Pavek ran for a pair of TDs and Jeff Gladis and Brock Buysse added rushing scores as Minneota/Lincoln HI hammered Maple Lake 50-24 during a state semifinal game Thursday at the Metrodome.
Gladis finished with 171 yards on 18 carries, while Austin Buysse completed 7 of 11 passes for 104 yards as the Vikings outgained the Irish 392-364 in total yards.

Minneota/Lincoln HI, which is playing its first season in Class 2A, will play the winner of a state semifinal game between Hawley (10-1) and Chatfield (11-1), which will be played at 11:30 a.m. Friday.
