PREP VOLLEYBALL: Vikings, Panthers, Rebels register victories

MINNEOTA - The Minneota volleyball team completed a sweep of Canby on Tuesday night in Minneota to stay perfect in the Camden Conference.

The Vikings, who defeated the Lancers 25-13, 25-12, 25-15, have not dropped a game in conference play and only two overall this season.

Payton Boerboom led Minneota (8-1, 3-0 conf.) serving, going 18-for-19 with five aces while recording 10 digs. Molly Hennen was 12-of-14 serving with two aces. She also had a double-double with 12 kills and 11 digs. Taylor Reiss pitched in with 11 kills and 10 digs while Megan Larson had 30 set assists and 10 digs.

Both teams are on the road Thursday as Minneota travels to Renville to face Renville County West while Canby (2-7, 1-2 conf.) will travel to Tyler to face Russell-Tyler-Ruthton.

TRACY - The Tracy-Milroy-Balton volleyball team defeated Lakeview on Tuesday night in four games to state undefeated in the Camden Confrence.

The Panthers won 25-14, 23-25, 25-13, 25-14 in Tracy.

TMB (7-2, 3-0 conf.) was led by Sammie Gervais who was 21-of-22 serving with seven aces in addition to her 13 digs and five kills. Cassidy Przymus was 20-of-22 serving with three aces and recorded 11 kills in the win.

Brianna Hoffman was 9-for-10 with an ace serving and recorded 11 kills, nine digs and four blocks for the Lakers in the loss.

TMB will travel to Madison on Thursday where they will face Lac qui Parle Valley. The Lakers (4-5, 0-3 conf.) will travel to Clara City to face MACCRAY.

WORTHINGTON - Red Rock Central fell to Worthington in four games Tuesday in non-conference volleyball in Worthington.

The Falcons (3-2) fell by scores of 25-20, 19-25, 25-16, 25-22 to the Trojans (4-3-1).

Brooke Rasmussen was a perfect 15-for-15 serving with one ace for RRC. She also recorded 27 digs. Olivia Bittner scored 11 kills while Cassie Erickson had a 10-kill, 17-dig double-double in the loss. Mikaela Smith was 17-of-18 with four aces serving and also recorded 12 digs.

The Falcons will be in action again on Thursday when they play host to Ellsworth in Jeffers for a Red Rock Conference meeting.

LUVERNE - Murray County Central moved to 3-1 on the season with a non-confeernce sweep of Luverne on Tuesday.

Kristi Bose led the Rebels, going 11-for-11 with an ace serving while recording a 19-kill, 18-dig double-double. Paris Thomas was 20-for-20 with an ace serving to go with 12 digs and 17 set assists. Jade Giese was also 11-for-11 with an ace serving. She came away with 17 set assists and five kills in the win.

MCC (3-1) travels to Mountain Lake on Thursday to face Mountain Lake Area in a Red Rock Conference match-up.

YME fell short in three games against Benson on Tuesday during a 20-25, 20-25, 21-25 loss.

The Sting were led by Hailey Enstad was firing from all cylinders with six kills, four digs and two blocks while going 9-for-11 from the serving line with 2 aces. Jordan Hinz was kills leader with seven while Chyanne Sand contributed five. Sand also added on 3 blocks.

The Sting will be back in action Thursday when they take on Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City.

The Russell-Tyler-Ruthton volleyball improved to 6-4 in a five-game triumph over Dawson-Boyd.

Janell Wichern inspired the Knights with 21 kills, 19 digs and six blocks. Destinee Strand offered 37 assists and finished 24-for-27 serving with 2 aces. Anna Madsen collected 23 digs and Dana Schaefer had 9 blocks in the victory.

RTR will host Canby Thursday and Dawson-Boyd will travel to Central Minnesota Christian.

Bucholz had eight successful serves among 10 attempts. Alyssa Otto went 7 of 9 with an ace at the serving line, while Morgan Citterman added a 7 of 8 serving effort.

Lincoln HI (2-7 overall, 0-3 Camden) plays at Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg on Thursday.
