More events postponed due to heat

August 28, 2013
Marshall Independent

More hot weather and humidity on Tuesday caused the postponement of sporting events involving area high schools.

In girls tennis, Marshall's home match against Yellow Medicine East was postponed with no makeup date available. Dawson-Boyd/Lac Qui Parle Valley was scheduled to play at Worthington, but were postponed instead.

A boys and girls cross country races, scheduled for today with Canby/Minneota/Lincoln HI, Tracy-Milroy-Balaton traveling to Mountain Lake, have been cancelled.

The recent heat wave has also forced area athletics directors to change kickoff times for Thursday's football games, when Several Little Sioux Conference football teams are set to begin their seasons.

Minneota/Lincoln HI's game at Lakeview will begin at 8 p.m.

MACCRAY's contest at Tracy-Milroy-Balaton will also begin at 8 p.m. The TMB Spanish Club Tailgate Party will last from 6:30 p.m. until kickoff.

The start time for Grenada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman's game at Westbrook-Walnut Grove will be 8 p.m.
